Fix Windows10 /11 BSOD CSAgent.sys, OS Stuck at Recovery (CrowdStrike BUG)

When you see Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Error on your Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer with

  • Reboot your computer, till it allows  you reach the  Recovery Mode automatically.
  • On Recovery Mode (should be similar whether it’s Windows 10 or Windows 11)
  •  Click on see Advanced Repair Options

  • Click on startup settings:

  • Press the numerical key “4” on your keyboard.
  • Click on the “Restart” option.
  • Your computer will then enter Safe Mode.

  • Login into your computer with your windows account. Navigate to this file  C:windowssystem32driversCrowdstrike and delete C-00000291*.sys
  • Delete the file C-00000291

  • Reboot the  computer and should boot in normal mode.

This fix should bring back your computer to normal mode.

Note :If your computer is encrypted, it will ask you to enter bitlocker key, if you have the key enter those key  and then follow the above the procedure.

If you do not have bitlocker key or lost or stored somewhere else , cannot remember. Then you need to follow these steps

  • Cycle through BSODs until you get the recovery screen.
  • Navigate to Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Settings
  • Click on  restart
  • Skip the first Bitlocker recovery key prompt by pressing Esc.
  • Skip the second Bitlocker recovery key prompt by selecting Skip This Drive in the bottom right.
  • Navigate to Troubleshoot>Advanced Options> Command Prompt
  • Type “bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal”. then press enter.
  • Go back to the WinRE main menu and select Continue.
  • you many need to cycle 2-3 times.
  • If you booted into safe mode, login with your window account.
  • Open Windows Explorer, navigate to C:WindowsSystem32driversCrowdstrike
  • Delete the file (STARTS with C-00000291*. sys file extension)
  • Open command prompt (as administrator)
  • Type “bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot“. press enter.
  •  Restart the computer and should boot into normal mode.

The above two fix will resolve Windows10 /11 BSOD CSAgent.sys, OS stuck at Recovery (CrowdStrike BUG).
